CAIRO: A Central Security Forces soldier was killed Thursday by the Sinai-based Islamist militant group Ansar Beit al-Maqdes in the border city of Rafah, security sources told Youm7.

The soldier was shot dead after militants opened fire on him on his way from the CSF camp to his hometown, the source added.

The source said the soldier was being escorted from the camp to a bus stop when the militants stopped him, pulled him out of the vehicle and shot him.
